Olivier Bériot

Olivier Bériot is a French costume designer with a known taste for the baroque era, delightfully ingenious solutions & the straddling of many worlds.

His breakthrough movie as head costume designer, 17th century-set Le Roi Danse (The King is Dancing), earned him a French César Award nomination. He went on to become a fixture both in Luc Besson’s biggest action blockbusters (Lucy, Taken, Taken 2, Taken 3), and at the Paris Opéra House (working with contemporary choreographers Jean-Claude Galotta, Douglas Dunn, Maurice Béjart, Suzanne Linke, Angelin Preljocaj, Nicolas Leriche, & Robyn Orlin). In recent years, he forayed into TV dramas with the gorgeously 60s-suited The Spy (2019), followed by the extremely popular Lupin (2021) and the upcoming 18th century extravaganza Franklin (2024).

Olivier Bériot was again a César Awards nominee in 2011 (The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec) and 2014 (Me, Myself & Mum), and a Costume Designers Guild Awards nominee in 2008 for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Julian Schnabel.

Olivier lives in France and works internationally.
